Background
Egyptian Copper Works Company required product-level carbon data for its aluminium output. Aluminium is among the CBAM-covered goods where embedded emissions are heavily influenced by electricity source and by the share of recycled input, which means the calculation is sensitive to assumptions that must be evidenced rather than estimated.
Objective
Assess the carbon footprint of ECWC aluminium products to support compliance with CBAM regulations.
Outcome
ECWC now holds product carbon footprint reporting that can be presented to European customers and verifiers, and an evidence chain that can be updated each reporting period instead of rebuilt. For exporters, that repeatability is the difference between a one-off study and a functioning reporting capability.
