Background
Badia is a large settlement in 6th of October City, and its long-term environmental performance depends on conditions that originate outside its boundary — regional air quality, prevailing wind, noise sources, water availability and surrounding land use. Reviewing those influences early lets them shape design rather than constrain it afterwards.
Objective
Support sustainable design decisions by reviewing surrounding environmental influences on the city.
Outcome
The review gave Palm Hills a consolidated environmental picture of the Badia site and its surroundings, supporting sustainable design decisions from an evidence base rather than assumption. Establishing baseline conditions early also creates the reference point against which future environmental performance can be judged.
