Assessment of problematic hazardous fractions in e-waste streams and identification of safe management solutions and EPR models.
Objective
Assess problematic fractions in e-waste streams and propose safe treatment, disposal, and extended producer responsibility approaches.
Scope of Work
- Submit work plan including project schedule and deliverables
- Survey previous WEEE recycling work carried out in Egypt
- Identify and approach authorized sources of information
- Build database of problematic hazardous e-waste fractions (CRT, BFR plastics, LCD glass, heavy metals, batteries, etc.)
- Assess technologies based on maturity, space, operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency
- Deliver opportunity study, impact assessment, proposed EPR system, and financial model
